Joanne M. Bischmann
Joanne Bischmann oversees Communications and the Business Aviation and Travel and Meeting Services functions at Harley-Davidson. She’s responsible for shaping stakeholder perceptions and creating advocacy for the company through targeted communication of the Harley-Davidson story. This includes all external corporate communications as well as employee, dealer, supplier, shareholder and community relations communications.
Bischmann is also president of the Harley-Davidson Foundation, which supports community needs based on education, health and the environment.
Since joining the company in 1990, Bischmann has served as Manager of Advertising and Promotions, Director of Marketing, VP of Marketing and VP of Licensing & Special Events before accepting her current position in 2010. She previously worked in advertising for Hoffman, York and Compton of Milwaukee.
Bischmann is on the Board of Directors of Summerfest, billed as the world’s largest music festival, and on the Board of Directors of the Better Business Bureau of Wisconsin, Inc. and a member of the Brand Committee of the National Better Business Bureau. She’s also on the Board of Advisors for the Plank Center for Leadership in Public Relations and Co-Chair of the Membership Committee for the Arthur W. Page Society.
Bischmann attended Washington University in St. Louis and graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication.
